Evangelistic Mission of Zaporozhye Bible Seminary Students to Georgia.
Since 2014 we had been praying for God to open doors to evangelistic ministry in other countries, so as to carry out the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20). Our prayers were answered when, in the spring of 2017, our first missions trip to the country of Georgia was made by the seminary's missions department students together with ZBS Student Dean and evangelism teacher Vadim Biryukov.
Since that time our collaboration with the Georgian believers has been developing and, in February 2018, we enjoyed a visit to Zaporozhye by two ministers from the International Baptist Church of Tbilisi (www.tbsbaptist.com). Pastor Charles Hoblitz and Deacon Beso Megrelishvili took part in a missions conference, visited our local churches and participated at a gathering of Zaporozhye ministers. They issued a powerful summons to come join in their labors, «for the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers few.»
Last year our team had a succesful trip and this year a team of six, including seminary students, graduates and faculty, a mix of experience and youth, is getting ready to go and serve in Georgia from July 21th to August 12th. We hope to serve both in the city of Tbilisi and in other population centers of this long-suffering country. Awaiting us there are encounters with children and youth in Christian camps, meetings with impoverished families, and whatever other forms of ministry the Lord will lead us into.
